In this exhibition Six Artists explore the theme of Breathing Space through
engagement with spaces real and imagined, corporeal and emotional.
The artists are a multidisciplinary group with practices ranging from painting and
printmaking to sculpture and assemblage, collage, and portraiture.
Their diverse histories, backgrounds and experiences bring an exciting breadth to this
group exhibition, where the artworks complement and cross-reference each other
creating a dynamic and coherent body of work.

Terry Barber, Caroline Ingham, Catherine James,
Octavia Milner and Tabitha Powles,.
On the Surface
Copeland Gallery London SE15 3SN
7-11 August 2024
On the Surface is a collaborative curatorial exhibition by
Rosie Zielinski (curator of Withheld, April 2022 at Safehouse 2, Peckham) and Nigel Fovargue.
On the Surface explores the multidisciplinary dialogues within contemporary practices
which examine the tactile surface through texture, composition and material enquiry. The
exhibition was born out of an open call, resulting in the careful selection by
Rosie and Nigel of 15 artists who explore the exhibition title within their work.
On the Surface will be an opportunity to showcase emerging contemporary artists who have
both recently graduated and established artists in order to encourage fresh conversations
around the theme of surface within contemporary practice.
Exhibiting artists:
Leah Kristin Blake, Lisa Chappell, Jayne Corfield, Rosie Feather, Nigel Fovargue.
Caroline Ingham, Ruby King, Neeta Naker, Ralph Overhill, JNPrints, Peter Roberts,

20 - 26 September 2023
In this exhibition Six Artists explore the body and health, decaying natural and industrial structures, memory and forgotten histories, and imagined landscapes. The artists’ wide variety of approaches to these subjects makes for a dynamic conversation between the works. Intent on capturing both emotional and physical sensation, each artist’s careful selection and manipulation of materials creates a visceral response to the world and their experience of it.
Six Artists collective comprises
Terry Barber, Caroline Ingham, Catherine James,
Gill Lucas, Octavia Milner and Tabitha Powles,.

Embodied in these works is the insecurity of our physical and mental health and the resource required to ‘hold it all together’ which is reflected in the making process. The presence of the shadows reminds us of the temporal nature of existence.

A unique celebration of art made in peculiar times. The Fine Art 2020 Alumni Show will exhibit work created by our students during the 2020 pandemic, and which they were unable to ever present publicly. It will be more than just a retrospective. The works, created under a distinct pressure during the pandemic, will act as singular testimonies and authentic artefacts of that moment in history. The show will feature work from all our Colleges, and like all vital works of art, deserves to be seen.

This group exhibition curated by Rosie Zielinski showcased a selection of contemporary artists who utilise printmaking within their practices. The works were installed at Safehouse 2 a dilapidated house Peckham. This atmospheric space often hired by filmmakers is also used as a gallery space. The exhibition featured my two of my most recent works Sometimes and Eventually you will win both of which are derived from Enfleshing I-VI I made at the end of 2020. One work incorporates silkscreened text something I will be continuing to explore throughout this year.

Press Release 23 October 2021
There is a sense of pre-apocalyptic calm that pervades ‘Journey into the Unknown’ an exhibition of twenty-two international emerging artists. Originally gathered in London to study at art colleges throughout the capital they were subsequently forced into isolation by the pandemic. These works, created in homes and studios from Seoul to Dorset, describe their experience and provide a commentary on the issues that fuel their work. The themes that emerge collectively call into question the idea of certainty.
The exhibition promises a thought-provoking insight into the world of these artists struggling to find their place, grasp control, and redress the balance of power in a world of misinformation, political upheaval and climate change.

… it's an achievement to accomplish a sense of materiality in an online world. I hope that soon this work can be experienced in embodied, spatial ways *
'Featuring Enfleshing I-VI Rules of Six is the inaugural exhibition of Six Artists, a group formed in response to the government’s Rule of Six regulation. The Covid-19 pandemic – has had a significant impact on the visual arts. Rules of Six has appropriated a regulation designed to limit social contact as a framework for a collective, creative effort – albeit one carried out at a distance. Six artists, six works each, one shared (virtual) space.
